More About Cambridge Care Company

We are regulated by the Care Quality Commission and at our latest inspection we were rated as 'good' in all 5 areas.

Cambridge Care Company provides health and social care to individuals in Newmarket, Haverhill, Bury St Edmunds,
Sudbury and the surrounding villages.

We look after people of all ages, from children and young people to elderly, with a range of different needs, abilities and
disabilities. Everyone’s needs are different, and we treat every person we care for as an individual, allocating staff trained to meet their specific needs.

We will work with you to draw up your own Personal Care Plan – a detailed overview of you specific needs, preferences and goals that will allow us to provide exactly the care you require.

We plan and structure care to not only meet your physical needs but also your right to a full and fulfilling life. Our aim is to support your independence and work with you towards positive goals.

The services we provide might include:

Personal Care

We can support you through various daily tasks like getting up in the morning and going to bed at night, washing, showering and bathing, dressing, bed-making and using the toilet.
Administering Medication
We can take responsibility for ensuring you receive you prescribed medication, including tablets, creams, ear, nose and
eye drops and inhaled medications.
Meals and Snacks
We can prepare, or assist you in preparing, meals and snacks.
Staff are trained in administering PEG feeds and providing extra assistance if you need help eating your meals.

Home Help

We can help with basic domestic tasks, such as vacuuming and dusting, washing up, laundry and light gardening.

General Assistance

To support your independence, we can help with everyday tasks like preparing a shopping list, accompanying you on shopping trips and outings, or fetching your shopping for you.

We can also help you manage your personal affairs, including things like paying utility bills.

Community Activities

We believe that engaging with the wider community is vital to ensuring fulfilment and well-being. We provide one-to one support to help you attend clubs, work placements and outings. We can also accompany you on trips and holidays.

Our sit-in service is there to provide you with company and support as and when you require, from popping in for a cup of tea and a chat to staying overnight to be on-hand while a family member is away.

Respite Care

You don’t have to be a full-time client to benefit from these services. We provide in-home respite care to cover a specific period of need – for example, when a family member or your regular carer is away or poorly themselves.

End of Life Care

We have the wide range of skills and experience to provide high-quality, sympathetic and practical end of life care.

Specialist Care

Our staff are trained to provide specialist care to support a wide range of mental and physical health issues, including:

AHD • AIDS/HIV • Alzheimer’s • Auditory Impairment • Autism • Cancer • Cerebral Palsy • Dementia • Eating Disorders • Epilepsy • Head/Brain Injury • Motor Neurone Disease • Multiple Sclerosis • Neuropathic Pain • Orthopaedic Conditions • Parkinson’s Disease • Schizophrenia • Speech Impairment • Stroke • Tourettes/Tics • Visual Impairment

Dementia is one of the issues we encounter most often, and it creates some unique challenges for our
service users, their loved ones and our staff alike. Our specialist Dementia Care Coaches are here to help. They provide training and support to our care staff, the people we care for and their families and representatives, so we can all work together to help those living with dementia enjoy as full and independent a life as possible.

We are also actively involved in promoting Local Dementia Action Alliances in the areas where we work. Part of the national Dementia Action Alliance, these groups bring together local people with representatives from business, public services, voluntary organisations and health and social services. By developing a coordinated response from the whole community, Local Dementia Action Alliances are a powerful tool for improving the lives of people with dementia and creating truly inclusive, dementia-friendly communities.
